What the Feeling? 7 to 12 years old

The content of the group is presented in person with age-appropriate videos, games, activities, educational concepts, individual reflection and group discussion. 

This 1.5-hour group is for children and youth who are struggling with strong and uncomfortable emotions that are affecting life or relationships. The group is focused on understanding the link between events, emotions and the signals the body sends. Emotions can be scare and overwhelming when they are not understood. Understanding emotions is the first step to finding strategies that work. Participants will learn about emotions, how they link to their experiences and find new coping tools.

What the Feeling? 12 to 17 years old

The content of the group is presented through a mix of video, activities, educational concepts, individual reflection and group discussion over a virtual platform.  

This 1.5 hour virtual group is for youth and teens who are struggling with strong and uncomfortable emotions that are affecting life or relationships. The group is focused on understanding the link between events, emotions, and the signals the body sends. Emotions can be scary and overwhelming when they are not understood. Understanding emotions is the first step to finding strategies that work. Participants will learn about emotions, how they link to their experiences and find new coping tools.

What the Feeling? Caregiver Group

This group reflects the content in youth/teen groups and delivered from the caregiver lens. The content of the group is presented through a mix of video, educational concepts, individual reflection and group discussion.

This 1.5-hour group is for caregivers of youth ages 7-17. The group offers caregivers strategies to help their youth/teen who are struggling with strong and uncomfortable emotions that are affecting life or relationships. Caregivers focus on understanding the link between thoughts, feelings and behaviours based on the developing brain. Caregiving is challenging and the group focuses on ways to increase connection with each other and decrease overall distress. Participants will reflect on their own awareness of emotions, how they link to a person’s current caregiving experiences and find new coping tools.
